The White Horse in Easton is set to re-open on Friday 16th June following a remodelling of the much-loved pub.
Having closed temporarily throughout May, The Chestnut Group has taken the opportunity to redevelop the gardens and kitchen - installing a custom-made children’s play frame and a stone baked pizza oven in preparation for an all-new, family friendly menu.
The menu will be focussed around relaxed pub classics, including homemade burgers and ‘pies of the week’ with locally sourced and seasonal produce. It will also include a children’s section and even a few treats for your four-legged friends.
Liam Keeting, former Sous Chef at The Pier in Harwich is leading the kitchen team and said “The opportunity to head up the kitchen at The White Horse was very exciting. It has always played a central role in the local community and I am very much looking forward to developing an affordable, relaxed menu that both locals and tourists will appreciate”.
Former head chef Allister Catchpole is returning to the White Horse as the new landlord. Allister comes with an extensive knowledge of the area and the White Horse itself having run the kitchen from 2010-2013 when it was crowned ‘Suffolk dining pub of the year’ in 2011.
Philip Turner, Founder of The Chestnut Group, said “We are delighted to have Ali and Liam on board in this exciting new chapter. We have listened to the feedback and relaxed our menu as well as installing a new children’s play area. Rural pubs will always play an important part in our expanding portfolio. Our latest venture - The Blackbirds Inn near Newmarket, has been well received by the local community, sending out a clear message that there is still a huge demand for relaxed, casual dining.”
The Chestnut Group will be announcing the new menu, events and team-member vacancies on The White Horse website soon. www.thewhitehorseeaston.com
