A few week’s ago the Sunday Times carried a feature listing the 100 top places to eat in Britain. Did Suffolk get a mention? Well, yes in the form of the Butley Orford Oysterage but nothing else. It seems to be the norm. Food critics on the national newspapers maybe only come to this part of the world when they are ‘off duty’ and maybe then it’s only the coast they are interested in - the well know foodie
venues around Aldeburgh, Southwold and Walberswick. To redress the balance here is a list of the best of West Suffolk. It hasn’t been chosen by the magazine but food experts from this part of the county who regularly eat in the places mentioned.
