Chestnut Christmas Gift Guide 2026
From sparkling wine and Suffolk cheese to quilted jackets, Christmas candles and good books, the East of England is full of brilliant things to give. We've rounded up some of our favourite gifts for this Christmas, intoducing our new Chestnut General Store and the small businesses we're lucky to call neighbours across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire. Whether you're shopping for the host, the cheeseboard devotee or the friend who has everything, there's something here for them.

Food & Drink
From Our Cellar
The Christmas Mixed Case
Champagne for when everyone arrives, two reds and two whites for the table, and port for when the cheese comes out. Our Christmas Mixed Case contains six bottles chosen for the way the big day actually unfolds, with tasting notes and a recipe from one of our chefs to try at home.

The Off-List Reserve Mixed Case
For the wine lover who thinks they've tried it all. These are six bottles from our reserve cellar that you won't find on any of our pub or hotel lists, including a 2012 Viña Tondonia Reserva and a rare Grenache Blanc from California's Ridge Vineyards. Instead of a recipe, our wine team has written a guide to every bottle, from when to drink it to which ones to decant.
The Autumn Mixed Case
A six-bottle case to stock someone's wine rack for the long winter evenings ahead, at a gentler price point. We think this could work for the father-in-law who has it all!
East Anglian Fizz & Spirits
Flint Vineyard
Earsham, Norfolk
Tucked into the sheltered Waveney Valley near Bungay, Flint Vineyard was founded by Ben and Hannah Witchell in 2015 and has fast become one of England's most exciting wine producers. Its Bacchus is the one to know, while the sparkling Charmat (included in the Autumn Mixed Case) makes a bright, fruity alternative to Champagne on Christmas morning. Fen Farm Dairy is just down the road, so add a Baron Bigod for a very local pairing.
New Hall Wine Estate
Purleigh, Essex
Planted by the Greenwood family in 1969 and still run by the second and third generations, New Hall is one of England's oldest vineyards. It led the way in planting Bacchus, now East Anglia's signature grape, back in the early 1980s. Can't choose? Gift vouchers are available from the Cellar Door shop.

Moatwood Gin
Depden, Suffolk
Born on a 2,500-acre regenerative farm near Bury St Edmunds, Moatwood is a small-batch gin with a striking blue secret: borage, foraged from the farm's own rewilding project. The result is light, smooth and refreshing, with subtle notes of sweet orange. Serve it with tonic and a twist of orange. For a real showstopper under the tree, there's even a three-litre double magnum!
Barsham Brewery
West Barsham, Norfolk
Norfolk born and brewed. Barsham Brewery grows its own Maris Otter barley on the West Barsham Estate near Fakenham and draws water from its own borehole, so every pint comes straight from the land around it. Pick up a mixed selection from the brewery shop, from the easy-drinking Norfolk Topper to the award-winning Golden Close IPA and the Stout Robin, perfect for a winter's evening. Or, stop by one of our bars for a pint!
For the Cheeseboard
Fen Farm Dairy
Bungay, Suffolk
No Christmas cheeseboard is complete without Baron Bigod, the creamy, Brie-de-Meaux-style cheese made by the Crickmore family from their own Montbéliarde herd on the Waveney marshes. Pair it with a glass of English fizz.
Mrs Temple's Cheese
Wighton, Norfolk
Catherine Temple started out making cheese in her farmhouse kitchen, with milk from the family's Brown Swiss cows. Her Binham Blue, Norfolk's only cow's-milk blue, is a national gold medal winner. The farm is just three miles from The Globe at Wells-next-the-Sea, and it's perfect with the port from our Christmas Mixed Case.
Sweet Treats
Pump Street Chocolate
Orford, Suffolk
A father-and-daughter bakery turned bean-to-bar chocolate maker on Suffolk's Heritage Coast. Their bars fold in flavours from the bakery, from sourdough and sea salt to Eccles cake, and the chocolate Father Christmas is a stocking favourite.
Wilkin & Sons
Tiptree, Essex
The Wilkin family have been making Tiptree jam since 1885. A jar of their marmalade for Boxing Day breakfast is a small gift with a long story!
Homeware

Bring Home the Chestnut Scent
Connock England Winter Candle
Cinnamon, clove, clementine and patchouli: Christmas in a jar. The Winter Candle is hand-poured in the UK with 100% natural wax, and makes the easiest host gift there is. For a bigger room, the Winter 3-Wick Candle fills a whole sitting room.
Connock England Winter Home Set
The full Winter fragrance experience in one gift-ready set. Prefer to mix and match? Try the Winter Candle & Diffuser Set or the Winter Candle & Ceramic Set.
Connock England Verdant Candle & Room Mist
If you've stayed with us, you'll know this one. Verdant opens with eucalyptus and peppermint, softens into geranium and English rose, then settles on sandalwood and amber. The mist is lovely on freshly washed linen, too.
Made by Local Hands
The Suffolk Nest
near Ipswich, Suffolk
What began as Ashlee Jane's Instagram account documenting her Suffolk home renovation has grown into The Suffolk Nest, run with her husband. It's best known for wonderfully lifelike faux flowers and wreaths, alongside vases and timeless home accessories. Many pieces are named after the county's villages, so look out for the Lavenham vase, the Helmingham vase and the Iken brass bell.
Constance & Denny
Suffolk
Constance & Denny works with small studios in Jaipur to hand block-print joyful, colourful tablecloths, napkins, tea towels and oven gloves, alongside cosmetic bags and one-off vintage kantha quilts. A set of napkins or a tablecloth will brighten up any Christmas table, and the pretty cosmetic bags make perfect stocking fillers.
Dressing the Table

Cambridge Imprint
Cambridge
Three artist sisters behind patterned paper, stationery and homeware with a wonderfully English sense of colour. Their patterned paper crowns are a joyful, fully recyclable upgrade on the tissue cracker hat, and a paper-chain kit will dress a whole room.
Country Fashion
Wrapped Up for Winter Walks
Lavenham
Lavenham, Suffolk
In 1969, Mrs Elliott made the world's first quilted nylon horse rug in the Suffolk village of Lavenham. The diamond-quilted jacket followed a few years later, and Lavenham has been making them in its own Suffolk factory ever since. A jacket or gilet that will see them through decades of Boxing Day walks.
Carrier Company
Norfolk
Hardwearing, practical workwear designed and handmade in Norfolk, built to get better with age. Think Norfolk work jackets, traditional smocks, waxed jerkins and wool waistcoats. The wool hats and socks come in a rainbow of colours and makes a brilliant stocking filler.
Finishing Touches
Hicks & Brown
Suffolk
The feathered wool-felt fedoras you'll spot at every point-to-point, each one hand-finished at the brand's Suffolk HQ. The bestselling Suffolk Fedora is water-resistant and arrives in a branded gift box. As the feathers vary, no two hats are quite the same - and there's a children's version too!
spotted-seal
Norfolk
A young family clothing brand inspired by the Norfolk coast and its famous seals, made in the UK where possible. A cosy, characterful choice for anyone whose favourite winter walk ends at Blakeney Point or Horsey Gap.

Ashley swapped an office job for a Norfolk fishing boat, and her book is full of early starts, hard graft and humour. The best bit? Ashley supplies a selection of our pubs and hotels, so this is a story you can taste.

Verdant Bath Trio
Bubble bath, hand and body wash and lotion in our signature Verdant scent, made with English borage oil from a family-run farm in Suffolk. Smaller budget? The Verdant Hand & Body Duo is £42, or go all out with the Verdant Full Range at £167.
A5 Leather Recipe & Tasting Folder
Every case from our cellar comes with tasting notes and a chef's recipe card, and this black leather folder gives them a home. Pair it with a Christmas Mixed Case for a gift that grows, case by case.
