ANNIVERSARY WEEKEND AWAY
By Hayley of Southwood Living IN AND AROUND To celebrate our wedding anniversary we recently went to stay at The Black Lion in Long Melford. We stopped off to explore the village before we checked in, which is very cute. There were lots of little tea rooms and antique shops to browse. We also decided to go to Lavenham, just a short drive away. It blew my mind completely; I haven’t seen anything like it in my life. The buildings were the best example of medieval timber frame

By Michaela and @the_daxie_trouble I’ve been wanting to explore Suffolk for such a long time and when we were invited to stay at one of the Chestnut pubs ( Chestmutts to the boys - Chestnuts dog-friendly website for discovering their pubs) I just had to choose the The Westleton Crown . This beautiful, super dog-friendly inn takes pride of place on the edge of a quintessential Suffolk village green and is also very close to the beach. What's not to like! SANDY PAWS STAYCATIO

THE PAW-FECT STAY
By Kitty Brandon and Eevee the Dachshund Having looked through Chestnut's new doggy focused microsite - Chestmutts, we jumped at the opportunity to try out one of Chestnut’s dog-friendly pubs as staycations are brilliant and they’re even better if you take your best furry friend with you! Eevee could play the pampered princess (nothing new there!) at one of Chestnut's upscale inns and we would be able to explore a new area. THE DESTINATION The Three Blackbirds is a refine

A SUMMER STAY AT THE BLACK LION
By Josie Laxton What do you imagine when you think of Suffolk? I picture sleepy villages, thatched cottages, painted in muted pinks and burnt oranges... To kick start our August Bank Holiday weekend, we headed to the countryside for our overnight stay at The Black Lion . Although Suffolk is a short drive from where I live, it's a county I am quite unfamiliar with. So, when we arranged our stay, I was excited to see as much of the county as possible and it did not disappoint.

A GETAWAY WITH THE KIDS
By Rachel Ducker With over 45 miles of stunning coastline, it’s easy to see how North Norfolk pulls in so many visitors. Just north of Norwich is the Georgian town of Holt, full of gorgeous flint stoned buildings and plenty of galleries and independent shops. Home for the evening was ‘ The Feathers , ’ an ideal place to stay with our two boys under three – along with our “first born,” a Norfolk Terrier named Archie. If you follow me on Instagram , you will notice how much I e

A STAY AT THE FEATHERS
By Hayley of Southwood Living We moved to South Norfolk about 8 months ago and made a promise to ourselves that we would explore this glorious county and really experience where we are living rather than just existing! Sunday we took our defender, lovingly called Nelson, of course!! And headed up to the North coast. The sun was shining as we drove through gorgeous Norfolk countryside, dotted with flint stone buildings and cottages. There is always so much going on in Norfolk

A REVIEW OF THE CARPENTERS ARMS
Written and reviewed by Richard Bryant Drive past The Carpenters Arms and there’s barely any hint at what lies behind the pale brick facade. That fleeting view might register it as a nice, traditional village pub. But go to its glass-fronted side entrance and all is revealed - a bold, bright and light extension and refurbishment that has dramatically added more space to a hitherto small bar and restaurant. The decor is lively and conversation-making; a blitz of rich oranges a
