5 Things To Do in The Rain

While we wait patiently for spring to arrive and watch the rain fall for approximately the millionth time this year, it's hard to know how to while away the hours. Here are our top five ways to spend a rainy (or not-so-rainy) afternoon in our neck of the woods.
Sundays, done properly
Sundays are made for slowing down and spending quality time with family and friends around the table. So, rather than busying away in the kitchen while they all have a good time, leave us with the washing up and stop by for a traditional roast or something seasonal.

Board Games, Books, and Bar Snacks
Eke out your weekend with an afternoon of Monopoly, a good book over a pint or a ridiculously competitive game of backgammon. We've got board games at the ready for those days that you just don't feel like doing much more than filling a table with good friends and competitive energy or bring along your current read. Just ask behind the bar to see our games!

Fish and Chips by the coast
The seaside isn't just for summer! There's something special about hunkering down in a coastal pub when a storm feels like it's brewing just outside or the sea looks like it might take off. Pull on an extra layer, grab the Sunday paper and spend the afternoon in one of our coastal pubs - fish & chips have a way of making the day better!
Check out our North Norfolk pubs, The Westleton Crown and The Ship here (just remember to pack your woollens)

Circular Walks that end at the pub
Is there anything better than a long walk followed by bundling into a country pub to warm up? No, we didn't think so. You can pick up a copy of one of our walking maps from behind the bar and head off on adventures through woodland, over fields or along the coast all before refuelling in the bar.
And, I'm sure we don't need to remind you that four-legged friends are welcome in all our pubs, so grab the lead before you head out the door!
Here's some of our favourite walks this winter and some specifically for Constable Country where we're celebrating artist, John Constable's, 250th anniversary.

A winter break and cosy nook
Stay for longer this winter and enjoy a reduced rate, slower pace and plenty of good food and company with two or more nights for 25% off. Or, if you're organised in advance, save 20% a night on our Bed and Breakfast rate when you book a minimum of 14 days in advance. So, pack your bags and set off to hide away in a corner of our region.

If you're still struggling to find inspiration this winter, our Winter Guide is full of places to visit in our region, and most of our pubs are showing the Guinness Six Nations which are on until mid-March, so scrum on down for a pint and good energy!
